Knee Pain and Effusion in Knee

Updated: Jun 11, 2022

Knee joints are one of the most important joints of human beings, therefore we should take great care of them .

There are many potential causes for knee pain.

Poor walking posture and excessive load can cause strain on the knee joint and cause pain. For example, walking high-heeled shoes for a long distance often causes the knee to be in an abnormally stressed state for a long time, causing chronic damage and causing pain.

For knee joint pain caused by strain and poor posture, patients can use physical therapy such as hyperthermia, hydrotherapy, ultrasound, and acupuncture to alleviate the pain during acute attacks. It is also beneficial to use Chinese medicine, which plays a major role in promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis.

If the knee joint pain is caused during exercise, stop exercising immediately to avoid aggravating the injury. Within 24 hours after the injury, apply cold compress at the pain point and keep it for 30 minutes. Avoid hot compresses, massages or medications. Apply external painkiller with analgesic and anti-inflammatory after 24 hours。

For knee joint pain caused by osteoarthritis, physical therapy can be used to effectively relieve pain and stiffness in the knee joint. Conventional physiotherapy methods include ultrashort wave, microwave, iontophoresis, red light irradiation, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, etc.

In our clinic, we use acupuncture combined with herbs and moxibustion to treat knee pain and effusion in knee for our patients. it proves to have a great effect. Check out our testimony!
